Merrillville, Ind., defensive tackle Dexter Larimore has had scholarship offers from Michigan and Ohio State, and official visits scheduled to both. Another Big Ten school has joined Larimore's offer list and he has scheduled another visit.
"Purdue basically offered me as an offensive lineman," Larimore said. "They said they would like me to play offense there.
"But I'm not really looking to play offense in college. A lot of good schools have offered me to play defense. That's where I want to play.
"If (Purdue) finds another scholarship for the defensive line, then maybe we can keep talking."
Larimore has scheduled official visits to Indiana Nov. 5, Michigan Nov. 12, and Ohio State Dec. 2. He made an unofficial visit this past weekend.
"I went to the Ohio State-Indiana game," Larimore said. "I thought it was good. I saw good things on both sides. I saw how both teams run their defense."
The 6-foot-3 and 265-pound Larimore said he is also considering Michigan State and Iowa State. He made official visits to both for wrestling.
