Size and speed: Lane is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.45 seconds.
Statistics: Lane rushed for 2044 yards during his junior season and scored 27 times, but will likely play on defense in college.
Favorite Schools: Committed to Ohio State
Skinny: Shaun Lane is the son of former Ohio State cornerback Garcia Lane who was an all Big Ten selection in 1983.
Shaun Lane attended Ohio State's junior day last Saturday and was offered a scholarship. He committed to the Buckeyes shortly afterwards, and made the official announcement this afternoon. Lane becomes Ohio State's first commitment for the class of 2004.
"Syracuse and West Virginia were kinda in the picture," Lane said when asked about his selection of Ohio State. "But not really. I always wanted to go to Ohio State."
"I don't care what position I play, wherever I'm needed. I just want to be a Buckeye."
"Growing up in Ohio, you just want to go to Ohio State."
