Landry on the board with first offers

The first two scholarship offers have come for Lafayette (La.) Carencro running back Alonzo Landry.
Landry, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound Rivals100 to watch member, found out within the last several weeks that his first two scholarship offers were coming from the SEC. Carencro coach Lancy Guidry says that his running back has also had a chance to speak with both head coaches from the first two schools who sent the offers.

"Yes, Ole Miss has offered and Alabama has as well," Guidry said. "Alabama talked to him in early February. Alonzo had a chance to talk with coach (Nick) Saban and they talked to him for a good while. Coach (Burton) Burns is the one recruiting him.
"Ole Miss, Frank Wilson is recruiting him and of course he also had a chance to speak with coach Ed Orgeron as well."
Landry also has attended a junior day when he took in LSU's event several weeks ago. Guidry says that Landry has a chance to really add several more offers with hard work in the classroom.
"They didn't offer, but LSU said they're interested in him," Guidry said. "A lot of schools are waiting on his grades and how that goes. He has a chance (to qualify). He hasn't taken the test yet but will take it shortly. I think he'll do that in April from what he said."
Florida has sent handwritten letters according to Guidry and has asked for more film on the Louisiana running back. West Virginia and Arkansas have also showed interest.
As for a favorite, Guidry says that his running back has shown high interest in Arkansas in the past.
"Right after the football season, he said he liked Arkansas because they ran the ball so much," Guidry said. "I don't know now what he's looking at. I'm not pushing him in any direction as to where he's going to go to school, I can promise you that."
