Landry holds offers

Tight end Matt Landry out of Pittsford (N.Y.) Pittsford Mendon holds two scholarships already. The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder has a number of other colleges interested including those from the Big Ten, ACC, Pac-10 and Big East.
"I have two offers from Buffalo and New Hampshire," he said. "Schools in contact with me the most are Syracuse, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Michigan State, Princeton, Stanford, Harvard and Duke.

"Princeton really likes me, they may offer me a spot on the team. I believe I'm a sure thing for the Ivy League. Michigan State, Purdue, Stanford, Connecticut and Syracuse want to see my first couple games before making a decision. I called Duke last week and they hadn't looked at my film yet."
Meanwhile, Landry touched on the two offers.
"I really like the coaches at Buffalo," he said. "Turner Gill is a great guy and a great coach. He's been in a big program at Nebraska and coached for the Packers. He's got great morals and doesn't get on his players too hard, but knows when to get on them. The one thing with them is that I'm not sure he'll be there very long.
"As for New Hampshire, I don't know a lot about them. I hear it's a beautiful campus."
Currently the two-star prospect is wide open.
"I'm not favoring anyone, I'm just trying to find the right fit," he said. "I want a good academic school, a good place where I have good relationships with the coaches. I want somewhere I can vie for playing time."
Landry posted 65 tackles and 12 sacks along with 10 receptions for 161-yards and five touchdowns as a junior on his way to first team all-county and honorable mention all-Rochester honors.
"I missed five games last year due to injury, so I did most of that in three games," he said. "I think I'm a hard worker that does what I'm told. I'm strong, fast and disciplined."
