The Land of Enchantment is home for one of the nation’s best pass rushers. This two-way standout set the school record for sacks and he’s drawing attention from Big 12, Big 10, Pac10, and Mountain West schools. Some consider this player the number one prospect in the state of New Mexico.
The player to keep your eye on is defensive end/offensive tackle/tight end Aaron Lewis (6-4, 265, 4.7) from Albuquerque (N.M.) La Cueva.

This talented player was selected first-team all-state, all-city and all-league on both sides of the ball.
Lewis plays on the right side and doesn’t flip flop so at times he’s on the weakside while at other times he’s on the strongside.
From his defensive right end spot, Lewis was dominating. He racked up 88 tackles, had 46 quarterback hurries, set the school record with 25 sacks, five blocked passes, three fumble recoveries, one blocked punt and recorded one safety.
Lewis also has good strength. His bench is 335-pounds and his squat is 455-pounds.
“People can't block Aaron,” La Cueva head coach Fred Romero said. “He even beat double teams. He’s a dominating player.”
Lewis was the spearhead on a team that won the New Mexico State championship and one of the nation’s best defenses on the high school level.
La Cueva was ranked nationally in the top ten against the run. La Cueva’s defense only gave up 346 yards in 13 games in 2003.
The kicker is the opposition gained all of 346 yards on 355 carries. The opposition only averaged .97 yards per carry against La Cueva.
The defense only gave up 55 points all season long.
Lewis is getting early recruiting attention from New Mexico, Arizona State, Arizona, Michigan, Illinois, Texas Tech and Air Force.
Lewis comes from a military family. His father is in the Air Force so the Falcons could be a legitimate player for the services of this talented football player.
