Many coaches out West consider Jesse Scroggins of Lakewood, Calif., as one of the best kept secrets in the nation at the quarterback position. But the secret is now out on the 6-foot-2, 190-pound pro-style passer.
"He already had an offer from Washington, but here in the past few days Washington State offered and then June Jones at SMU offered," Lakewood passing coordinator Anthony Tucker said. "Then on Wednesday, Nebraska came through with their official offer.
"He's a special player, and it's really exciting to see the attention pick up for him. It's well deserved and couldn't happen to a better quarterback and a better kid."
Scroggins' teammates are also starting to blow up with even more offers.
Receiver Kevin Anderson, who previously had an offer from Washington, also added offers from Arizona state and Washington State this week.
