Lake Brantley LB likes five

A name to watch in the Central Florida area this fall is Josh Ferguson, an outside linebacker from Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley. Ferguson is hearing from several schools and lists a top five.
"Recently I just started hearing from Vanderbilt," Ferguson said. "I've been hearing from USC (South Carolina), Purdue, Connecticut, UCF, Marshall, Louisville, and Tulane."

Ferguson, who received six phone calls from college recruiters during May, is awaiting his first scholarship offer.
"What I'm hearing is that they're waiting on the first game," he said.
Ferguson is 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, and runs the forty-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He has a 2.8 grade point average and recently scored a 930 on the SAT although he hopes to improve on his score this fall. Last season as a junior he was named second team All-Conference.
"I was tied with somebody else for like third on the team in tackles," Ferguson said. "I think I had like 58 tackles and most of them were solo. I had one sack the whole season. I had maybe two fumble recoveries."
Ferguson believes colleges are recruiting him to play outside linebacker.
"I actually play like three different positions on defense," Ferguson said. "It depends on what play that's called. I usually play outside linebacker or go back as a free safety or strong safety or I come down and play defensive end."
And does Josh Ferguson have any favorite schools?
"UCF is definitely on my list," Ferguson said. "I'm also thinking about Purdue and Connecticut. Maybe Vanderbilt and West Virginia also."
Ferguson would like to remain in the state, if possible.
"My preference is staying in Florida but I'm not going to be limited to that."
