Lagow staying patient

Quarterback Richard Lagow, so he's plenty familiar with the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-6, 240-pound prospect starred at Cisco (Texas) College this past fall and received some attention for his efforts. Yet with the path he's taken so far, Lagow is waiting for the perfect situation to present itself.

"I'm looking at things in a different way," Lagow said. "Since coming out of high school I've grown up a lot. I've completed a lot of classes and practice done with my sophomore year. Through this experience I've learned to be more patient. That's where I am at right now - I'm trying to find somewhere that is the right spot for me before making rash decisions."
Lagow signed with UConn in 2013 out of Plano (Texas) High School, where he was rated a three-star by Rivals.com. He waited until after signing day to do so, though, and garnered interest from West Virginia, Arizona State, Arkansas State, North Texas and Western Kentucky at the time. After signing with the Huskies, Lagow said he realized it was not a great situation.
"I could have handled it differently, but I've grown up a lot since then. I'm more mature," Lagow said. "I left for Oklahoma State after making a pretty quick decision. I ended up there, but left after summer workouts."
Lagow has three years remaining to play three and said he's open to remaining at Cisco if the correct situation doesn't come up. He recently spoke with Texas Tech, which lost a commitment from No. 4-rated dual-threat quarterback Jarrett Stidham in early December.
"They told me they like my film and would be in touch with me," Lagow said. "It hasn't turned into an offer or anything, but they've told me they would love me to come over as a walk-on. I told them I'm hoping for more, so if they decide they need a quarterback, my name is in front of them."
Lagow passed for over 2,900 yards and 28 touchdowns this season.
