Kuresa explains why he chose BYU

One of the most sought after defensive linemen in the country, Jake Kuresa of Hyrum, Utah, committed to BYU last Friday.
Kuresa selected the Cougars after making his official visit to the Provo campus on the weekend of Dec. 14-16. He also considered and visited USC and Oregon.

So why did the 6-foot-4, 305-pound star pick the home-state Cougars?
"I just liked it down there," Kuresa explained. "It matches me better."
"I also really liked the other places, especially L.A. I thought about USC, and they were second, but BYU was the right situation for me.
"BYU has just as good of a football program and it's what's right for me."
Kuresa is a key pick up for the Cougars, who are hoping to lock up the state's top defensive talent. With Kuresa's pledge, they're well on their way.
Now, the Cougars' intention may focus on another defensive lineman, Haloti Ngata of Salt Lake City Highlands High School.
Ngata had previously pledged to Nebraska, but has recently backed off of that commitment and it looks like he may also be headed to Provo.
