Kumming talks Big Ten recruiting

Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers quarterback Erick Kumming has been an all-conference selection since his sophomore year. This fine all-around athlete has also been an all conference selection in baseball since his freshman year. But Kumming says he is planning to play football at the next level.
"I'm mainly getting recruited for quarterback," Kumming said. "But a couple schools said my punting is an added bonus.

"I have letters from six Big Ten schools, Iowa, Ohio State, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan State.
"I've gone to a Northwestern junior day. Iowa and Iowa State invited my to junior days. Indiana invited me to some spring practices. And Toledo. And I think Illinois did.
"I'm definitely interested in Notre Dame. I really like Ohio State and Iowa. And Kentucky a little. And Indiana with their new coach.
"I plan on going to Ohio State's camp this summer. And Indiana, Iowa, and Northwestern. I'll probably go to Toledo's camp, and maybe Illinois."
The 6-foot-3 and 190 pound Kumming completed 145 of 331 passes (44%) for 2000 yards during his junior season. Kumming connected for 22 touchdowns and was intercepted 11 times. He also rushed for eight touchdowns and averaged 34.7 yards per punt.
