Kuempel talks about Purdue official visit

Marion, Iowa, three-star offensive tackle prospect Andy Kuempel (6-foot-7, 250 pounds) didn't have too much going on last Wednesday night. Yet last Thursday night Kuempel had plenty going on.
“I received a call last Thursday night from the coaches at Purdue," Andy Kuempel said. "Purdue offered me on Thursday night, and they also wanted me to take an official visit soon. I looked at my schedule for last weekend and it was really a good time to get away for a few days. I called the Purdue coaches back and told them that I could take an official visit that weekend."

Kuempel talked about his weekend at Purdue.
"I left for Purdue right after our game on Friday night, which we won. I got to Purdue around 5AM, and I was able to get about 4-5 hours of sleep. Then I woke up and went to the game against Michigan. After the game we went out to dinner with the team, and then I was able to hang out with the players after dinner. Sunday morning I had breakfast with the coaches in the press box at the stadium, then I had a chance to talk with several coaches at Purdue before I headed back home. I'm really tired tonight (Sunday) but I had a really good time."
"I came away with a really good impression of Purdue. I really like the feel of the campus as well as the town as well. It isn't overwhelming from a size standpoint and they have a really nice campus. The game against Michigan was a really good game, and even though Purdue lost they played really hard and that impressed me. I also loved the food on my visits, the food was just awesome and plenty of it as well. I would say that I was treated very, very well all weekend long. It was my first official visit, so I really don't have anything to compare it against, but I would say this was a great visit overall."
Kuempel, who has also landed an offer from the University of Oregon late last week, is taking all of his options into consideration.
"It's not getting any easier right now, that's for sure. I have some really great offers and options, and both Purdue and Oregon are schools that I'm going to give some serious consideration towards. I have three other visits set already (Kansas State 11/19, Iowa State 12/3 and Kansas 12/17) and I might schedule a fifth and final visit."
"My official visit with Iowa State set for December 10th will need to change. I had a basketball schedule change, and I have a basketball game now on that following Saturday night. I'm going to reschedule my visit shortly with the Iowa State coaches."
