Kuechly taking his time

Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier three-star outside linebacker Luke Kuechly has a lot of options to consider.
With scholarship offers from all over the nation, the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder said he's starting to think about narrowing his list down some more.

"I'm trying to limit down my schools," he said. "I'm talking to Stanford and Boston College. I'm trying to get a hold of Virginia. I'm just making sure it's a good fit for me. I mean, you can't play football forever."
Which is why the nation's No. 38 outside linebacker and No. 35 player in Ohio said a college degree is going to be very important to him. But in what, he's not sure of yet. But what he is sure of, he plans to lean on others to help him make the decision.
"My parents are going to be really key in this thing," he said. "They're being supportive. I would probably like to just take my time. I'm not really sure right now what I'm going to do or when I'm going to do it.
Kuechly didn't attend any camps this summer, but he did take unofficial visits to both Stanford and Boston College.
"I thought they were both great, great schools," he said. "I'm just looking for the best fit for me academically and athletically. I haven't talked to Virginia recently. I mean, I've gotten emails and stuff but I haven't been able to get them on the phone."
With practices already well underway, Kuechly said he's excited about what his senior season could hold.
"I just want to have a successful season," he said. "We're looking pretty strong. I think we'll do well. We won state last year. St. Ignatius and Colerain are the two big ones I'm forward to. We won both of those last year. St. Ignatius was a close game, the other wasn't.
"They're both rivalry games. We were 15-0 last year. We're looking to go 15-0 again this year."
