KSU, LSU, Cal, Oregon next for DE

Hayward, Calif., five-star strongside defensive end Phillip Mbakogu saw his season come to an end recently, and now that it’s over recruiting has moved to the top of his to-do list – especially after spending the past week filling up on a Thanksgiving feast.
“I had turkey, stuffing and all of the works,” Mbakogu, who is 6-foot-3 and 260 pound, said. “I think I gained about five pounds. I really liked the stuffing.”

Mbakogu will now try to stuff visits to Kansas State, Cal, LSU and Oregon here in before signing day. He’s already visited Notre Dame back on October 17.
“I was going to visit K-State this weekend, but since they’re playing for the Big 12 title, I’m going to go out there on the 19th,” he said. “That’s my next visit. I was going to check LSU on the 12th, but they wanted me to come in while they had students on campus. I’ll go check them out in January.”
He’ll also see Cal and Oregon in January, but both the Bears and Ducks will make in-home visits with the nation’s No. 1 strongside defensive end on Tuesday night.
“I’m looking forward to those visits,” he said. “It’s going to give me a chance to make a great impression on those coaches.”
Mbakogu will take the K-State, Cal, Oregon and LSU visits with teammate Robert Jordan. Jordan’s brother, Randy Jordan, plays at Kansas State.
