Koppenhaver lands first offers

Davis Koppenhaver is on the board with his first two offers and with a bunch of summer camps coming up the Newhall (Calif.) Hart tight end could be in line for more.
Iowa State and Nevada are the first two offers for the 6-foot-5, 209-pound prospect and he said it's still early in his recruitment and he needs to learn a lot more about each program.

"Nevada came by our school and then Iowa State came by our school but they didn't watch our practice," Koppenhaver said. "They both called me this week and they offered.
"It's pretty early. I've been doing some research on both of the schools and they're both unique in different ways. They're both pretty interesting to me."
Koppenhaver, who attended the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles, said he's been hearing a lot from Duke, Washington and Utah State.
Those coaching staffs have told Koppenhaver that if he camps there this summer then an offer could be close. Although all the dates aren't worked out yet, Koppenhaver said he'll have a busy schedule in the coming months.
"They said if I go up to camp and play like they think I can play then they'll offer me," Koppenhaver said.
Another round of camps is also expected for the Newhall Hart standout including a run of them in the Ivy League.
"I'm not sure about the dates but one weekend in June I'm going to the Utah State camp and then I'm going to camp at Yale, Harvard, Princeton and Columbia," Koppenhaver said. "I'm coming back and then I'm heading up to Washington for camp."
