Kopa looking more solid

Elk Grove (Calif.) two way lineman Matt Kopa gave a commitment to Stanford back in the summer. When former head coach Buddy Teevens was fired, Kopa said he may open things up a bit and take a few visits.
"I've talked to Coach (Walt) Harris a couple of times now and I really like him," Kopa said. "That pretty much solidified me staying with Stanford. Plus they're going to keep most if not all of the defensive staff there and I already know all those guys pretty well so it's looking very good that I'll stick with my commitment to Stanford.

"I'll still probably take a visit to Cal although I haven't set a date yet. My Stanford trip is set for (Jan. 7) and I heard that's going to be a big weekend for them with about 20 or more players visiting. I just want to look at one other school to have something to compare Stanford too but if everything goes great on my visit to Stanford, there's a chance that could be the only one I'll take."
Kopa, 6-6, 270 pounds is a talented two way lineman who will start out on defense for the Cardinal although we love his upside as a future offensive lineman. The athlete will be playing in the CaliFlorida Bowl January 2 at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.
