Kobe Pryor to Clemson: "It is like one big family there"

Kobe Pryor is a Clemson Tiger.

The 5-foot-11, 205 pound running back out of Cedartown, Ga. chose Clemson over Auburn, Georgia Tech and LSU.

Pryor exploded as a recruit in 2019, and had over 20 offers when he made his decision. He has visited Clemson three times since the offer earlier this year and that home feeling won him over.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"I really knew it was Clemson after I talked to them for a while, then after my last visit (spring game), I knew for sure it was them," said Pryor. "While on my third visit to Clemson, I felt it. I went home, talked to my family about it and let them know how I was feeling.

"Auburn was on top, but after my second time I was up at Clemson, they moved to the top of my list. I was up there with Kevin Swint, we were having a good time and I felt like it was the best fit for me then. I started thinking about committing then.

"I told coach Tony Elliott of my decision first a couple of weeks ago. He is the guy I know the best and I gave him the news first. He was happy, he was talking about how great it was to be a Tiger and we were both excited. We have a great bond. I know he is a coach, but I feel like he is a player that I can talk to about anything.

"I am really excited about going to Clemson. I think I have a good chance to go in, compete and play there. I know Demarkcus Bowman has committed too, so I am ready to go compete with him.

"I want to help Clemson keep the success going. I feel I will have a chance to be a big part of that. I can't wait to help the team.

"In the end for me, it was very clear that Clemson was right for me. Recruiting was a little stressful at times, but once I started feeling Clemson, it got a lot better. It is like one big family there. Everyone there already talks to me like they know me and it feels like I am already part of the family at Clemson."

RIVALS REACTION

Pryor has emerged as one of the top backs in the south. He is a strong back with balance and decisive cuts that has improved his speed and explosiveness over the past year. This will be his year to shine. He has played beside, and somewhat behind Tony Mathis (2019 West Virginia signee) the last couple of years, but 2019 will be the year he is the featured back. Pryor will be that guy this year, and he is a three down back with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
