Knox has new offer, leader

Statesboro High School has won back to back AAAA State Championships in the state of Georgia. The team certainly isn't short on talent.
One of Statesboro's top prospects in the class of 2007 is defensive back John Knox.

Georgia Tech was the first program to offer Knox a couple months ago, then Maryland offered, and offer number three arrived on Wednesday.
"Oklahoma State offered me today," Knox said. "They called Coach "P" and told him they were offering me."
Three programs have offered, but many more are showing interest.
"I am hearing a lot from Georgia and Auburn," he said.
Knox plans to see coaches from those two programs and many more next week.
"We go into our second week of practice next week and Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, and South Carolina said they were going to come bye."
This South Georgia prospect favors three southern programs right now, but one in-state team leads.
"Georgia Tech is on top right now," Knox said. "I just like how they have been recruiting me and they really have a lot to offer."
"After Georgia Tech, it is Georgia and Auburn. Those are my top three schools."
A trio of programs have extended Knox an offer and he hopes to pick up a few more this weekend.
"I am going to be up at Georgia for the NIKE Camp and I know a lot of coaches will be there. I plan on going out there to compete and to show coaches what I can do."
Knox, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound hard-hitting safety finished his junior year with 47 tackles and 3 interceptions.
