Knotts travel schedule filling

Nigel Knott has plenty of options. Nineteen of them to be exact. Even so, the Madison (Miss.) Central High School cornerback isn't in a hurry to narrow his list or name a favorite. It may not be the norm in this era of recruiting, but Knott is biding his time.
"I don't really have a favorite yet or anything, but the schools I'm really interested in visiting again or for the first time are Oregon, Tennessee and Florida State. And I'm going back to Alabama so I can get a little more info on that. There are some others, too. Those are the schools that I like the campuses."

Knott has already toured the campuses of Florida State, Alabama and Tennessee. He intends to get out to Oregon when he gets the chance down the road. He also has some more immediate plans. His research is ongoing.
"I've got Alabama on Wednesday and I'll be over there," Knott said. "Then, this weekend, I'll be up in Starkville for prom. Since I'm going to be up that way, I want to possibly go by the spring game at Mississippi State. After that, I want to get some of the other big ones on the list so I can start to narrow it down."
In keeping with his theme of patience, Knott has set no immediate timetable for a commitment. The only thing about which he's certain is that a decision won't come anytime soon. The four-star prospect is nothing if not methodical.
"I'm thinking about waiting until after I do my official visits," Knott said. "I'm gonna take all five."
Knott, it seems, is in search of a feeling. It's why he's in no hurry and why he doesn't anticipate picking a school until he's more comfortable with his options. It's the reason for multiple visits and long phone calls with coaches. Even if he has some trouble verbalizing the specifics, he knows what he's looking for.
"I just want to see how I can fit in for three or four years," Knott said. "I want to make sure I pick a place where I can be happy."
