Knights beat Huskies for QB

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights might have just secured the quarterback of the future with their latest verbal commitment.
Pottstown. Pa. quarterback Terrance Shawell verbally committed to Rutgers University this past weekend. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback, who had offers from Connecticut and West Virginia, decided that Rutgers was the place for him.

"I really loved it," said Terrance. "It's a great situation for me. I think that the coaches are really cool and I got along with everyone there."
Last season the underrated Shawell passed for 1,800 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also ran for another 300 yards and two scores. He led his team to the Pennsylvania AAA district championships before losing and finishing 11-1 for the year. He was voted all-area and Most Valuable Offensive Player as well as all-county and all-league.
Terrance is scheduled to make a visit to Uconn next weekend, but it looks like that will be cancelled.
"I need to call Connecticut and tell them of my decision. I'm solid with Rutgers."
Shawell is a full academic qualifier.
