UCF's future offensive line continues to take shape.

Delonus Kabir, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound guard who will be attending Pahokee High School as a senior, committed on Tuesday to become the Knights' fourth offensive line pledge in this class.

"I fell in love with the campus," Kabir said. "I really liked the coaches. When I visited, one of the first things I asked about was academics. They have a great academic program. I think I'd really fit well in the offense. In high school, we run spread. UCF likes to balance things out between the pass and the run and I like that. They run a hurry-up offense and we do that now. I think it's a great fit for me."

A member of the Class 4A All-State team at Glades Central as a junior, Kabir caught UCF's attention earlier this spring and then a strong camp performance in early June sealed the deal on his offer.

"The UCF recruiter for my area, Coach (Willie) Martinez, came to my practice one day," Kabir said. "After that, the offensive line coach, Coach (Glen) Elarbee, hit me up on Twitter and said they were really interested in me. Then I went to the camp and Coach Elarbee was really coaching me up. I think he wanted to see if I'd be coachable by him. He wanted to see how well I moved, stuff like that. After the camp he showed me around the campus and I met with the head coach and offensive coordinator. That's when they told me I had an offer. Ever since then we'd been keeping in close contact."

Kabir, who also had Southern Miss and FAU offers, decided the time was right to accept. His grandparents, both of whom had also spoken with Elarbee, endorsed the idea.

"I texted Coach Elarbee last night," Kabir said. "I told him what I wanted to do and he said that was great. He had me call Coach (Josh) Heupel this morning. He was all pumped up. After that I called Coach Elarbee. His wife and son got on the phone too and congratulated me."

He's also ahead academically, needing just two and a half credits to graduate high school, so Kabir is planning to enroll at UCF next January. He's leaning towards a major in criminal justice.

Kabir joins Michael Lofton, Mark Pitts and Patrick Barnett as UCF's prior offensive line commits. The Class of 2020 is now up to 11 players.
