Knight wants out of the shadows

Call him a sleeper or whatever you want, but with one look it's obvious that Ardmore, Okla., safety Ellis Knight is starting to show the nation what he can do on the football field.
Several teams have been held to minimal passing yards including one performance where the opposition netted zero yards through the air. The 6-foot, 180-pound safety Knight is a big part of that and he's starting to see his recruiting pick up because of it.

"It's good, but at the same time not a lot of teams even pass on us anymore," Knight said about his team. "They throw away from me and when they run the ball, they run away as well. The only team that passed on us was Shawnee (Okla.) High School."
Kansas, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Tulsa, Colorado State, and Iowa State are the teams that have been noticing the special play of Knight on the field. Knight said he will wait until Signing Day to decide, but would like to see the first offer come soon.
However, right now the priority is clear.
"I haven't thought a whole lot about it," Knight said about recruiting. "I'm just trying to win. I want to go out there and work hard so we can continue to have team success like we've been doing every week. I'm not just worried about myself."
Several schools, including almost every one that has been sending mail to the state of Oklahoma's No. 30 ranked prospect, have spoken with him about a visit.
"I haven't set up any, but I've been asked to come by almost every school that has been writing me," he said. "We're in the season now and I'm not really trying to do those now. After I concentrate on a state title, then I'll start to think about visits."
