Kline talks Air Force commitment

Yakima (Wash.) Eisenhower linebacker Seth Kline readily admits that he was not too keen on the idea of attending a service academy after high school when the possibility first arose, but as he learned more about the Air Force Academy he realized it was an opportunity too good to pass on. Earlier this month, Kline accepted that offer.
"At first when I got the offer I wasn't really interested in the whole military idea," Kline said. "But their coaches kept calling me and giving me more information. When I went on my visit and saw the whole thing, it changed my whole [perception] and I committed.

"Of course my parents liked the whole idea of having a good paying job right after college. Graduating and becoming an officer where everyone looks up to you was one of the main reasons I committed as well."
The 6-1, 215-pound Kline took an official visit to Colorado Springs the weekend of Jan. 9 and before he left to return home he had made the decision to be a Falcon.
"They had a dinner on Saturday night and I committed at that time," Kline said. "It was kind of funny because right before the dinner we went to the gift store and I think the assistant coaches were watching to see who was buying stuff. I was probably buying the most out of all the recruits, so at dinner the head coach came up to me and asked, 'Is there anything you want to tell me?' So I committed right there."
The football aspect of the Air Force Academy also attracted Kline. After they extended their offer, the Washington-based linebacker started to pay closer attention to what the Falcons were doing on the football field.
"I was real excited when I watched their bowl game. They beat Houston and that got me real excited," Kline said. "They run a 3-4, and they've got two middle linebackers. Both of those middle linebackers graduated this year, so they said I can come in and get some playing time right off the bat as a freshman."
Kline also held an offer from New Mexico State and was receiving interest from other Division 1 programs, but he is relieved to have made his decision.
"It's just awesome to know that I have a school I can look forward to going to and not have all the stress of talking with the different coaches. I can just concentrate on going to the Air Force," he said.
