Kitt Pommells earns first offer

Paterson (N.J.) Paterson Catholic wideout/safety Kitt Pommells has earned his first scholarship offer with many more expected to follow.
"Virginia just offered Kitt," said Paterson head coach Benjie Wimberly of his 6-foot-1, 200-pound standout. "They just got his highlight film and loved it. The film has just gone out, so more offers should be coming in very soon."

Pommells lists the Cavaliers as one of his favorites along with Notre Dame, Boston College, Syracuse and Maryland.
"I always grew up watching Notre Dame games on TV," he said. "I also watched Florida State and Miami, but I don't think I'd go that far away from home. I don't really have a favorite right now, but Virginia offering shows they want me more than others right now. Most schools want me as a safety, but Syracuse said I could be a great wide receiver for them."
As a junior, Pommells caught 48 passes for 620 yards and 13 scores. On defense, he made 80 tackles with three interceptions and four forced fumbles. He will be attending the Rivals.com New Jersey Junior Day this Saturday, April 3rd, and will be at the Elite College Combine at the New Jersey Meadowlands on May 5th.
