Kirks final five taking shape

Christian Kirk hasn't announced a top five just yet, but he will before the start of his senior season. He knows there's limited time between now and then, though, and doesn't mind coming clean about where he is in the process.
There are certain schools he knows will make the cut when the time comes. The Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro wide receiver doesn't mind sharing one of them, either. He's not exactly an open book, but he's also not going out of his way to hide every shred of information. Instead, he's found an in between .

"I would have to say Texas A&M will make it," Kirk said. "I'd probably throw one of the LA schools in there, too."
As for which Los Angeles-based school has already made the cut, well, there's guesswork to do on that front. Kirk says it will be one or the other. But when pressed to reveal whether its USC or UCLA that has made the cut his answer is simple.
"Nah," he says, preserving some mystery in the process.
The No. 23-ranked player in the country and the No. 3 receiver in his class, Kirk has an aggressive summer visit schedule lined up. But the only trip on the immediate horizon is an Apr. 18 visit to California, which signed his high school teammate and close friend Luke Rubenzer in February.
"I actually had nothing planned until summer, but the Cal visit came up," Kirk said. "Luke and his family are really pushing to get out there, so I decided to get out there and take a look. I talked to the coaches last week, but I'm not sure they know I'm coming yet. I'm sure they probably do, but I'll give them a heads up. Other than that, I've kind of been laying low and training with some college stars and some NFL guys that are here in Arizona for the summer."
Kirk intends to graduate high school a semester early in order to enroll at the school of his choice in time for 2015 spring practice.
As a junior at Saguaro, Kirk caught 142 passes for 2756 and scored 57 total touchdowns. He also rushed for 825 yards and carried a 10.7 per-carry average.
