Kirbus receives calls from Iowa and Miami

Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius quarterback Rudy Kirbus is preparing for a big game this weekend as the Vikings travel to Indiana to play Mishawaka Penn.

The 6-foot-4 and 206-pound Kirbus, the No. 35 prospect in the state of Ohio in the Rivals.com player rankings, has led his team to a 3-1 record. Kirbus has thrown for 850 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Recruiting might be heating up for Kirbus too.

"Miami of Ohio called a couple of days ago," Kirbus said. "Iowa called last night.

"A lot of MAC schools are interested, and some Big Ten.

"I liked Miami a lot when I went to camp down there. Iowa says they're interested, so I like them. I liked Virginia when I went to camp there.
