Kinnel impressing on summer circuit

Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne class of 2015 defensive back Tyree Kinnel jumped out with two offers from SEC schools this past spring. He is looking to add onto those offers by camping with several schools this summer.
Kinnel's summer started with camps at Tennessee and Ohio State. He most recently attended camps at Michigan and Michigan State and felt his performance at both stops was strong.

"I think I got the strongest [reaction] from the Michigan coaches," Kinnel said. "But playing-wise it was between Michigan and Michigan State. I did really well at those camps. Michigan State said they are going to offer me when the season comes this fall."
The stop at Michigan State gave Kinnel a chance to work with Spartans defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett and familiarize himself with the rest of the coaching staff.
"They are real cool, Coach Barnett especially. We really connected that day and he really loved what I had to do at camp, thought I played really well," Kinnel said. "For me, [the MSU interest] will be strong because if they offer me it will be my first Big Ten offer. Living in Big Ten country, you want Big Ten offers."
Michigan coaches did not explicitly talk about an offer, but they have invited him back up for another visit later this month.
"They said I helped myself a lot based on what I did at camp," Kinnel said. "They want me to come back up July 27. There are going to be about six of us and we'll go up to hang out with the coaches and look at the academic wing, stuff like that.
"I have been up there quite a few times, actually. Last year I went to two games, and then I went to a basketball game. The interest is very high in them. I'm just waiting on an offer, basically."
Kinnel is already on board with his first offers. It started with one from Kentucky during the spring evaluation period.
"Them being my first offer is really exciting, being from the SEC," Kinnel said. I was really humbled about that. I have already been to Kentucky. It wasn't for a camp, just for a visit.
"Arkansas offered me about three weeks later. I will be visiting there on [July] 19th. I'm pretty excited to see how it is and how the coaches are. I have already met Coach [Taver] Johnson, so I just want to meet the rest of the coaching staff, see what the campus is like and get to know the coaches really well."
Kinnel plans to attend two more camps this month. He will be at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp on July 26, but this weekend he heads down to Dallas to take part in the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge presented by Under Armour.
"That's very exciting to go down there and compete with all the top underclassmen," Kinnel said. "I am just going to show my ability and what I can do."
