King closing in on decision

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern linebacker Leron King has quietly picked up a nice list of scholarship offers and is one of the hotter recruits in south Florida. Kansas has already picked up a commitment from one player at Northwestern, can the Jayhawks make it two?
"Kansas would probably be my favorite right now," King said. "My teammate Dustin Fortson is already committed to them and it would be nice to get out there and play with someone you know and that you are comfortable playing with."

The 6-foot-1, 197-pound King runs the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds, has a 315-pound bench press and 435-pound squat. He runs the shuttle in 4.5 seconds and has a 27-inch vertical jump.
"I have also taken visits to Florida International and Rutgers," King said. "Iowa wants me to take a visit up there and I still may do that, but I could go ahead and commit to Kansas. I'm just not real sure what I'm going to do about that. I felt real comfortable with the coaches and the surroundings when I was out in Kansas. I was really pretty surprised."
As a senior he earned second team all Dade county honors. He collected 18 sacks as a junior and also has offers from Rutgers, Akron and Florida International.
