Kinder to decide soon

Albion (N.Y.) wide receiver / all-purpose back Derek Kinder took his third official visit last weekend and has one left on his schedule. He plans to make that trip, then will sit down and decide which school is best for him.
Kinder visited Pittsburgh over the weekend and had a good trip.

“It went really well,” he commented. “I got to meet a lot of the players. (Freshman linebacker) Derron Thomas was my host and showed me a lot of places on campus.
“One thing that stood was the facilities, since they share them with the Steelers. They are all state of the art.” He rated the visit a nine.
In addition to Pitt, Kinder has also visited Maryland and BC and will visit Syracuse on Dec. 12. His three previous trips have all been good, but for different reasons.
“They are all really close and all have pluses,” he explained. “Maryland is in a good location, only a half hour from DC and Baltimore. BC really impressed me with their academics.
“Pitt is the coaching staff. Coach Harris is just a really down to earth guy.” Derek will take his visit this weekend and plans to have a decision before Christmas.
“I am definitely looking at the relationship with the coaches and players,” he commented on the criteria he will be considering. “I want to real comfortable for the next four of five years, and I want to get along with the coach and to be able to sit down and talk to him if I need to.”
Rated the No. 9 player in New York by Rivals.com, Kinder is 6-foot-2, weighs 197 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds. He ended his senior season with 195 rushing attempts for 1705 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also had 17 receptions for 289 yards, even though he only played in 9 games.
