Tahj Kimble is yet another running back prospect from the Sunshine State with multiple scholarship offers. Right now he has seven - Boston College, Indiana (first), Middle Tennessee State, Purdue, Tulane, Buffalo, and Iowa State. Along with those, many more programs are recruiting him. Kimble, 5-11 and 197 pounds, is from Fernandina Beach High School.
"Teams like South Carolina, Florida International, Florida Atlantic FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest and others are all recruiting me pretty hard," Kimble said. "They want to evaluate more so I know I need a big year. They all wanted me to come to camp but I just couldn't really do it with work. So I know I just need to keep working hard. They will all see something they like this season."
Last season as a junior Kimble rushed the ball 146 times for 1,111 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had 34 receptions for 500 yards and seven touchdowns receiving.
"My main strength at running back is making people miss. I'm a bigger back too and I am really good at that because I have really quick reflexes and good footwork for my size. I can also get to full speed quickly and stop and start. But when I need to I can run people over."
Kimble recently camped at South Carolina. He liked what he saw in Columbia.
"It was a good camp, a one day work out. I ran some routes and did some one on ones with linebackers. I thought I did well. South Carolina didn't offer but they are staying in touch and are going to keep looking at me."
