Tahj Kimble is a three-star running back prospect from Fernandina Beach High School in Florida. Kimble, 5-11 and 198 pounds, had a big junior season, rushing for 1,211 yards and eight scores. He also caught 34 passes for 441 yards and seven touchdowns. This summer, he camped at South Carolina, Florida State and Florida and caught the attention of the coaches in Columbia, Tallahassee and Gainesville.
"I camped at South Carolina, went to a FSU team camp and their Showtime camp and went to Friday Night Lights," Kimble said. "I think I really did well. South Carolina is staying in touch and I may go there for a game this fall. FSU said some good things and they could offer sometime this fall. I think I did well at Florida and surprised them but I don't know where I stand with the Gators at all."
Kimble does know where he stands with the schools that offered. There are plenty of them that would love to sign this versatile running back.
"Boston College, Indiana, Purdue, Middle Tennessee State, Buffalo, Iowa State, Tulane, and Charleston Southern have all offered me. I know I will visit Indiana, Purdue, Boston College in the fall. I may also visit Iowa State and Tulane unless something changes this fall. We'll see what happens this fall. I am trying to establish myself nationally as a recruit. Things could change if more teams offer."
Fernandina Beach just started football practice this week and according to Kimble, things are finally starting to click for his team.
"It seemed like over the summer that we didn't have much team chemistry. Not everyone was coming to workouts. Now we are a team and we are bonding together and we are working together. We have the mind set of a team."
