Killebrew visits MD

Linebacker Brandon Killebrew out of Springdale (Md.) Flowers took an unofficial visit last weekend. The 6-foot-0, 199-pounder stayed home to check out the Terrapins game with Delaware.
"It was really nice," he said. "I really like the coaches at Maryland. They talked to us before and after the game. The fans were crazy, the student section was wild, plus it's close to home.

"I got to talk to Coach Cosh on the visit. He said he wants to offer me, but they have something like seven linebackers committed and it's a numbers game. They have to do the best decision for them and want to see a few games."
The two-star prospect has offers from Navy and Ohio right now, but other schools are interested.
"I've been getting interest from Maryland," he said. "Vanderbilt has started to show more interest. I'm starting to get interest from Purdue and Pittsburgh as well. They all want to see my first couple games."
Does Killebrew like anybody?
"Not really right now," he said. "I'm open-minded. I'm not trying to narrow things down. I just want to have a great senior season."
Killebrew and Flowers open the season on Saturday.
