Kiernan reacts to coaching change

The sudden departure of Bobby Petrino has surprised many of the commitments to Louisville. One player that was taken back by the news was Newport (Kent.) Newport Central Catholic offensive tackle Zack Kiernan.
"I was really surprised and didn't know about until it happened and I received a call from Jeff Brohm," he said. "He basically called me and wanted to let me know what had happened. He didn't want me to find out from anyone else.

"I can say I really didn't even see it coming, but I don't think it has really changed anything for me. I think the only way it would is if coach Petrino takes the entire staff with him."
The Cardinals have already hired Tulsa's Steve Kragthorpe. What does the three-star prospect think about him?
"Honestly, I don't know much about him at all, so I'll just have to wait and see," he said. "I want to meet him pretty soon and find out how he coaches, how he runs his program and everything like that. That's mostly what I want to get."
Currently it sounds like Kiernan will be staying with Louisville. What does he like about the program?
"I really like the success they've had over the years and when I went down there I liked the atmosphere."
