Kicker up to five offers

If offers are an indication of who the nation's top place-kicker is then that answer could be becoming clearer who the nation's number one place-kicker could be. Not only did this kicker attract plenty of recruiting attention this spring but he notched his fourth offer just this week.
The kicker receiving all this attention is Kai Forbath (6-0, 170, 4.6) from Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame.

"Notre Dame offered Kai just the other day," Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame coach Kevin Rooney said. "Coach (Charlie) Weis watched him at practice and the offer came quickly."
The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame now joins a very impressive list of Northwestern, UCLA, Oregon and LSU as colleges that have offered.
The Fighting Irish have been recruiting Forbath hard since the beginning and now they have made it official they want the Notre Dame high school star to continue to kick for Notre Dame the University.
In an earlier interview with Rivals.com Forbath said that if Notre Dame offered that they would move up as favorite with the other three schools that have offered.
USC has also showed a lot of interest in Forbath and if the Trojans offered they would, too, join the other schools that have offered.
Don't look for an early commitment out of Forbath he is planning on taking visits before he makes up his mind.
Forbath has been working very hard on his kicking with place-kicking guru Chris Sailer.
Sailer has the following to say about his prize pupil.
"Kai is perhaps the physically, mentally, and mechanically ready kicker/punter in the country," Sailer said. "He has all the tools. He is the No. 1 kicker in the class of 2006."
Forbath was the only junior on the Student Sports All-American and all-state teams. He also earned all-CIF (all divisions), all-CIF Division III and all-league for 2004. He scored 122 points by kicking 68 PATs and hitting on 14 of 18 field goals.
"Kai has a powerful leg," Rooney said in an earlier interview with Rivals.com. "He kicks off well and he punts well."
"Kai has a very accurate leg and he works at," Rooney said. "Like all good players, Kai has an outstanding work ethic."
"Kai has good height on his kicks and punts," Rooney said. "He is a good weapon for us."
