Kicker makes a trip and commits

Georgetown, Texas kicker Mason Crosby made a surprise visit with his mother to the campus of Colorado. Crosby showed his skills with booming kicks that were good enough to receive an immediate scholarship offer from the head coach at Colorado.
"We decided to make a trip to Colorado," Crosby's mother said. "He was kicking 55 to 60 yard field goals and 70 to 80 yard kick-offs and Barnett decided to offer him. Mason really liked it and he accepted. They really wanted him and showed a lot of interest in him."

Will he be making any other visits? "Only to Colorado."
The commitment is solid. Crosby and his mother both loved the school, area and coach Barnett.
"Yes, he plans to sign the letter-of-intent on signing day."
Colorado was his first offer. His dream school was Texas, but they did not need a kicker. He was receiving varied attention from Oklahoma, Duke, Stanford, Texas Tech, Southern Methodist and Texas Christian.
In his junior season, the 6-foot-2, 180 pound kicker made eight of 10 field goal attempts, with a game long of 52 yards and a wind-aided practice long of 65 yards. He made 17 of 20 points after touchdown attempts. The three that he missed were blocked by the opposing team. He made first-team all-district and second-team All-Central Texas by local publication.
