Kicker Kelly commits to Penn State

Langhorne (Pa.) Neshaminy kicker Kevin Kelly had been scheduled to make an official visit to Syracuse. Oct. 8, but did not. And it is very unlikely the visit will be rescheduled.
"I had a project due in school so I didn't visit Syracuse," Kelly said late Wednesday night. "I committed to Penn State last night. I'm calling the other coaches tonight and telling them. It was pretty much down to Penn State, Syracuse and Delaware.

"All of them have great tradition. But I just pretty much feel comfortable at Penn State. I feel comfortable with the coaches. I just felt real comfortable with the whole campus setting. It's a place I feel good about being at for four or five years.
"I haven't set up my official visit there yet. It will probably be in December. I'm not 100 percent sure I won't make any other visits, but probably not."
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Kelly is the No. 20 kicker in the Rivals.com player rankings. Kelly has made five of six field goals and all 26 of his extra point attempts as Neshaminy has won all six of it's games this season. Kelly's long field goal has been from 43 yards and 82 percent of his kickoffs have not been returned. Kelly's career-long field goal is from 52 yards.
