Kicker booting around top 3

One of the nation’s top kickers still is sitting with a top three with a busy January official visit schedule to take. So is there a team with a leg up on Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas kicker Jay Ottovegio?

Stanford is still up there right above Kansas State and Illinois,” Ottovegio, the nation’s No. 2 kicker, said. “I’m leaning that way, but I want to take the trips and see what it’s like first before I make any kind of decision.”
With a trip set to Stanford for January 10 and then to Kansas State on January 17, Ottovegio expects to be busy here the next few weeks. He’s already visited Illinois back in December and is also talking with UCF and maybe Georgia Tech about a visit also.
“Stanford is a great academic situation for me,” Ottovegio said. “I also hear the area around the campus is great.”
So what about K-State and Illinois?
“Kansas State is probably my best option for winning games and having the top football program,” Ottovegio said. “Illinois is kind of in the middle of K-State in terms of football and Stanford in terms of academics.”
Either way, it looks like it’s going to be a tough decision for Ottovegio when the time comes.
