Keystone QB takes two unofficials

In recent weeks, Kenneth Square (Pa.) Unionville quarterback Matt Carroll took two unofficial visits. What did the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder think about his two trips?
"I took a visit to Navy and Northwestern," he said. "I'm also planning to go to Delaware soon and I've been told that Michigan called and loved my tape.

"I took a visit to Navy last week and Northwestern last month. I loved both of the schools. Basically I spent a day down at Navy and the campus is beautiful. I spent a brief time with coach Johnson and the running back and offensive line coach. I know it's a huge commitment if I go there, but I talked to a couple of the kids that graduated and they said all the time put in and connections they made are awesome. It didn't seem that bad.
"For Northwestern, I went to their junior day and that campus was awesome right on Lake Michigan. I really liked their coaching staff and their head coach is young and very straight forward."
Coming up, Carroll plans to visit Buffalo, Arizona State and Delaware.
Meanwhile, one school appears to be standing out for the Keystone quarterback's services.
"I'm wide open right now, but I do want to go to Pittsburgh," he said. "It's a great school and they have everything. The thing with them is that my dad knows pretty much the entire coaching staff and whenever we go up there, they are buddies and show us a lot of love."
This summer Carroll plans to attend camps at Michigan, Pittsburgh and Penn State. He's also planning to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State.
Last season he accounted for over 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns total.
