Keys eyes pair of visits

MORE: Grant Harris picks up Nebraska offer
Josh Keys is not hurting for scholarship offers. He currently carries 19 of them and doesn't much care if more arrive or not. His hesitance to name favorites at this point isn't because he wants to welcome all comers. Instead, it's the product of old-fashioned uncertainty. He'll get to the business of officially narrowing his options soon enough.

"Right now, they're all the same to me," Keys said on Wednesday. "I've been doing my research to see what's good for me and my family. "
But the Gulf Coast (Miss.) Community College safety's actions may be revealing his thoughts. Keys doesn't come out and say that he has two schools near the top, but the fact that he hasn't hesitated to set up official visits with Arkansas and Oklahoma State certainly says something.
The three-star prospect will travel to Arkansas on the weekend of Sept. 28. As for his trip to Stillwater, that date is in the final stages of being set.
"Right now I'm in the process of finding out when I'm going to visit Oklahoma State," Keys said. "I know I'm going to Oklahoma State and Arkansas for sure, but I don't have the day for Oklahoma State yet,"
Ole Miss is in play as well. Keys grew up in the state and was raised a Rebs fan. So while there's no official visit to Oxford being set up, the draw of the in-state program is real. Keys says that much in as many words.
"The Ole Miss offer is kind of special to me and my family," he said.
There are things more important that nostalgia or the name on the front of a jersey, though. Keys doesn't plan on letting emotion drive his decision. He's attacking it with logic. His choice will be about the betterment of his football career, plain and simple.
"The way I'm looking at it, I want to come in and be an impact to the team right off the top," Keys said. "Coming in from junior college, I don't really have a lot of time to get ready for that NFL Draft, so I need to make an impact."
Keys, who says he is on pace to graduate from Gulf Coast in December, hopes to make a verbal commitment in late November, after he finished taking his five official visits.
