Kevin Harris got the offer he wanted

Not that long ago with speaking with Rivals.com about that offer he wanted, Kevin Harris without hesitation said it was the one from Clemson.

Around lunchtime Thursday, the four-star edge rusher out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson got on the phone with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates, then quickly got the news he wanted.

This offer immediately put the Tigers high on his list.

"I was up at Clemson for the Boston College game, it was my first time there and they made a very strong impression on me," said Harris. "It was unique there. It was unlike anywhere else I have been.

"What stood out most was how everyone was like one big family. I did not have an offer, but I still felt comfortable and like I fit in there."

Harris knew Clemson had interest in him. They talked to him about his film and how they liked his progression this season, so the offer was not a shock.

"The offer means a lot to me. I definitely am taking a real look at them. I am now considering them.

"I love the atmosphere there and I like the coaching staff a lot. A coaching staff means a lot too me. They are the ones I will be working with every day when I go to college, so getting to know the coaches there, seeing how they are as men and seeing them coach as coaches has impressed me a lot."

There is one coach in particular that could factor into a potential decision for Harris. It is not head coach Dabo Swinney either.

Mickey Conn could be that X factor here. He and Harris have known each other for over three years, so that relationship could carry some weight.

"Coach Conn has watched me grind since I was coming up into the 9th grade," said Harris. "He knows a lot about me and I know him very well. Having that relationship does help them.

"I like all of the coaches there, but having one that has coached me before could be a big deal for me down the road."
