Kentucky's
top offensive line prospect has given his commitment to Wake Forest.

"It had come down to Louisville and Wake Forest, and
when John L. Smith left Louisville, that pretty much made the decision for me,"
said Boyle County standout
Brodie Overstreet. "I called and
let Wake Forest know Saturday that I was committing to them.
"I'm real happy about my decision. I like the direction
they're heading. They're in the Seattle Bowl against Oregon this year, and I
expect them to keep getting better with the staff they have. They told me that
coach (Jim) Grobe had some offers to take other jobs after this season, but
decided Wake Forest is where he wanted to be. I was real glad to hear that after
what I saw happen at Kentucky and Louisville."
Overstreet (6-6, 270, 5.1) had an official visit
scheduled for Louisville this past weekend, but opted to cancel it.
"I didn't think that would be a real good visit with the
players still being made and everything about the way that happened," he said.
"I already knew a lot about the school and the campus, and from what I saw at
Wake Forest (12/13), I knew where I wanted to go. I look forward to playing in a conference like the ACC and getting a great education."
Overstreet capped his prep career by helping lead the
Rebels to their fourth consecutive state title. They won the Class 2A title
during his freshman and sophomore years before moving up to conquer 3A during
his junior and senior years.
