Tamme this summer.
Instead, a whirlwind
trip of midwest is taking shape as his "family vacation."
"I'll be at six differenct places between Saturday (June
15) and the 22nd," said the wide receiver from Danville, Ky. "We've been joking
about it being our summer vacation."
Tamme (6-5, 205, 4.55), who had 45 receptions for 1,014
yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior for Class 3A state champion Boyle County,
will start his journey at a Kentucky mini-camp on Saturday. From there, he'll
head to Purdue and Northwestern for unofficial visits on Sunday and Monday.
On the 19th, he'll attend a half-day camp at Notre Dame,
and will do the same on the 20th at Michigan. Tamme will then attend a 7-on-7
passing event at West Virginia on the 22nd.
"I'll probably be worn out by the end of it," he joked.
"But I'm excited about the trip. I hope to get some more offers to think about."
Tamme currently has official scholarship offers from
Kentucky, Northwestern and Purdue. West Virginia may be soon to follow.
"They've really been coming on strong" he said. "That's
the newest team I've been thinking about. I didn't really know much about them
until recently, but I love what I've heard so far. They've got a great style.
They run a lot of 5-wide, no-huddle stuf and throw it all over the place.
(Mountaineer coach) Rich Rodriguez pretty much invented that offense from what I
hear."
Tamme declined to name a leader, but said he was pleased
to get the official word from the home state Wildcats.
"That's real exciting," he said. "It's good to have that
offer from them so soon and know they want me. They're definitely in the mix."
