Kentucky the leader for Parnell

It's safe to say the next week will be crucial for rising senior cornerback Devontre Parnell of Winnsboro (S.C.) Fairfield Central
On Tuesday, he camps at Clemson.

A day later, he'll do the same thing at South Carolina.
Thus far, the four-star player has offers from neither school. But he is optimistic good showings in camp will change that.
"I think they're close," Parnell said. "They want to see what I can do. They're telling me they want to see me at camp a little bit then they'll probably offer. I'm hoping both do."
Next Friday, Parnell will visit Kentucky. That is significant, too, because of the eight programs that have offered, the Wildcats are the team Parnell considers his leader.
"I like the program," Parnell said. "They play in the SEC, so they play against good talent. I like the school, too. I like talking to [assistant] Tee Martin. I talk to him a lot. He was telling me they will have four seniors at cornerback leaving next year. I'd have a good chance to come in and play DB and special teams."
Despite his affection for Kentucky, Parnell said if one or both in-state programs offer, he will have a lot to think about.
"I'm kind of waiting on South Carolina and Clemson before I move forward," Parnell said. "But I really like Kentucky."
