Pineville (Ky.) Bell County tight end/linebacker Brent Slusher is gaining a lot of recruiting momentum at this time.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder enjoyed a solid showing at the Athens NIKE Camp on Saturday at the University of Georgia, where he was impressive in one-on-one drills (he worked out as a tight end) and during the testing portion where he posted top five times in the shuttle and vertical leap.
Slusher currently is claiming offers from Vanderbilt and Wake Forest and also is getting heavy attention from Auburn, Clemson, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina.
He recently told Rivals.com what he liked about each of the schools on his list.
Auburn: "The school is really good and the team is excellent."
Clemson: "I used to live in that area. I went to visit and the school was nice. They have a good team and I like their coaches a lot. They said they will offer me soon."
Vanderbilt: "They are one of those surprising teams and their school is unbelievable."
Louisville: "I like the staff at Louisville and it's not too far away from home."
Tennessee: "I just like the atmosphere. I have always followed the Vols and their tradition is great."
Wake Forest: "I like their staff a lot. I also like my recruiting coach Dean Hood.
Kentucky: "I've been a UK fan since I was a kid. I have always thought about playing there."
South Carolina: "I like (head coach) Steve Spurrier. They have a good football program and the school is good."
Slusher said that he plans to announce his decision before the start of his season. He also hopes to continue to impress college coaches at future camps.
"I am not sure where I am going, but I am going to go to some more camps," he said.
