Kentucky QB putting up good numbers

Louisville (Ky.) Fern Creek two-star dual-threat quarterback K.J. Black has done everything to help his team off to a 2-1 start. He said he has around 400 yards of total offense and that's the type of play that will attract more attention from the college coaches.
"I only have four touchdowns, though," Black, the No. 17 player in Kentucky according to Rivals.com, said. "Every time we get near the end zone, we punch it in. I do have 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground, though."

Black said he's taken his game to another level.
"Things are a lot slower on the field for me," he said. "Last year the speed of the game really started to slow down for me since I had started as a sophomore and this year things are going great. I'm able to now focus on helping calm the other players around me down. I'm not a real vocal leader, but I let my actions do my talking."
Black has received a few calls in September from Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee-Martin and James Madison. Eastern remains his lone scholarship offers, but Tennessee, Kentucky and Cincinnati have all requested senior film.
"They're going to like what they see," he said.
