Kentucky picks up sleeper out of Memphis

The city of Memphis is steadily growing as a hotbed for football talent. Some momentum is building within the region and college coaches are taking notice. The University of Kentucky has made an effort to get into the region and that effort has paid off with a sleeper commitment on Sunday.
Martavius Neloms, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound cornerback out of Memphis (Tenn.) Fairley recently picked up an offer from Kentucky to add to his other offers from Southern Miss and Arkansas State. This weekend, Neloms was on campus in Lexington and came away impressed.

Over email, Neloms' coach Rahnmann Slocum confirmed that his senior corner had made up his mind.
"I just wanted to inform you that Martavius Neloms has committed to the University of Kentucky today," wrote Slocum on Sunday night.
Neloms was named first team All-State in Class 4A as a defensive back this season. He also competed in the Liberty Bowl All-Star Game in which he intercepted one pass. He finished his senior year with 50 tackles and eight interceptions.
