Kentucky OL taking things slow

Covington (Ky.) Covington Catholic offensive guard Mike Donoghue is considered to be one of the top players in the Bluegrass State for the class of 2005. He already has several impressive offers and has spent some of his time checking out schools.
“I went to the Cincinnati-Miami-Ohio game and the Kentucky-Indiana game,” Donoghue said. “I was supposed to go to the Tennessee-Louisiana Tech game this pas weekend, but I ended up not being able to make it.”

The 6-foot-2, 293-pound Donoghue attended the NIKE camp in Columbus where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.18 seconds and ran the shuttle in 5 seconds flat.
“I don’t have any official visits set up right now,” Donoghue said. “I will probably end up taking those sometime after the season is over. I wanted to go to Boston College for a game there this past weekend, but they were on the road.”
He has 340-pound bench press, does 19 reps on the bench press and has a 540-pound squat. He also boasts a 22-inch vertical jump.
“I am looking to go somewhere that I fit in well with the team,” Donoghue said. “I would really kind of like to stay close to home if possible, but then again I really like Boston College a lot. I just want to take my official visit there and see how it goes and see what it is like there.”
Donoghue is currently ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the Bluegrass State.
“I am probably going to wait and take all of my official visits before I make any kind of decision,” Donoghue said. “Tennessee and Northwestern are two schools that have really picked up interest. They have been asking for senior tape and have been calling and stuff.”
