Kentucky LB/DE has top three

Lexington (Ky.) Lafayette outside linebacker/defensive Bilal El-Amin has picked up another scholarship offer and is in the process of narrowing down his list for official visits.
“Purdue has offered me now,” he said. “I have offers from them, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Northwestern, Marshall, Miami of Ohio, Eastern (Kentucky) and Western (Kentucky).

“Right now, I like Kentucky, Marshall and Miami at lot. They’re probably my top three. Maybe Purdue now. But I’m going to wait until the end of the season to worry about any of that. We’re having a great season. We’re 9-2 right now and playing a big city rival, Dunbar, in the playoffs Friday night, so I’m focused on that right now.”
El-Amin (6-4, 235, 4.7) was slowed by an injury earlier this season and missed all or parts of three games, but has still managed to record 32 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks despite the constant double-team efforts by opponents. He had eight tackles in last week’s first-round playoff victory.
“I’m just now getting back to full strength,” he said. “I feel good right now, and it’s just at the right time.”
He plays rush end for the Generals, but says the schools recruiting him like him at outside linebacker.
“I know that’s where Kentucky likes me the most,” he said. “They said I fit into their 3-4 system real well. Miami likes me as a linebacker, too. I watched them the other night on TV. They just blew Marshall out. That was impressive.”
In addition to being a top athlete, El-Amin is also a solid student, sporting a 3.1 GPA and a qualifying test score.
