Kentucky impresses 2016 NC WR

Even though he hasn't picked up his first offer yet, Raleigh (N.C.) Athens drive 2016 wide receiver Teryn Savage is already busy on the visit circuit, getting an up close look at campuses around the country.
"Two weekends ago I visited Kentucky and I like what I saw there," the 6-foot, 160-pounder said. "I was supposed to go to Florida last week but I went to Maryland instead. They have some good players, Stefon Diggs is fun to watch."

While plenty of schools are already recruiting Savage, it appears that the Wildcats are showing the most interest.
"Kentucky has really been the school I'm talking to the most," Savage said. "[wide receivers coach] Tommy Mainord and I have been talking since I camped there this summer. Once I went there they liked what they saw and they have kept in touch and we've been talking once or twice a week."
One of the main reasons Savage elected to fly into Lexington for an unofficial visit when the Wildcats hosted rival-Louisville was because of the relationship he's built with Mainord.
"He's kind of like a father figure to me," Savage said. "He's always asking about my grades, making sure I'm going to class and keeping my GPA up."
Earlier this fall Savage also visited Clemson for the Tigers season-opening victory over Georgia.
"I camped there and they invited me back for that camp so I couldn't miss it," Savage said. "That atmosphere was crazy. You could barely even hear yourself talk, it was live, a real electric experience."
Ohio State is also one of the schools looking at Savage and he visited over the weekend for the Buckeyes game against Wisconsin.
As far as his first offer, he said he's hoping that Kentucky or Clemson pull the trigger soon.
