Burton has given his verbal commitment to Kentucky after being a guest
of the Wildcats for Saturday's 77-17 rout of UTEP.
Burton (6-2, 180, 4.55) plays quarterback, wide receiver
and defensive back for Louisville DuPont Manual. He's a member of the Rivals.com Kentucky Top 15
team and is rated as one of the nation's top safeties.
He picked the Cats over Northwestern, Louisville and Indiana among others.
Burton is the Cats' fifth verbal commitment from the Class of 2003, joining
quarterback Andre Woodson, offensive lineman Ryan Noblet, linebacker Joe Schuler
and safety Dallas Greer. The Wildcats also have five "grayshirts" from last year's class which will count toward their 2003 total.
