Kentucky ATH has two on top

Louisville (Ky.) Waggener cornerback/running back Alfonso Smith is beginning to narrow his list down. He currently has two schools atop his list.
“Right now I would say that Kentucky is No. 1 and Boston College is No. 2,” Smith said. “I’m also looking at Louisville and Miami-Ohio. I don’t want to say that it is down to Boston College and Kentucky, but those two are way out in front right now.”

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Smith runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. He has a 250-pound bench press and a 350-pound squat.
“I still want to take all of my official visits this season,” Smith said. “I talked to coach Joker Phillips from Kentucky today and he was telling me that he wants me to come over there and visit soon.
I am also trying to get up to Boston College sometime soon. I want to visit both of them, because I have practice and I have to work all of them time. It is not easy for me to find time to take these visits. Both of those schools are definitely going to get official visits though.”
As a junior, Smith rushed for 1,241 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns. He also intercepted three passes on defense and had two special teams touchdowns.
“I am really going to watch Boston College and Kentucky close this season and the other schools to,” Smith said. “I want to see how their seasons play out, that is going to be the main factor in my decision. I am also going to be looking for a coaching staff that is going to be there all four years that I am.”
Smith is ranked as the No. 9 player in Kentucky by Rivals.com and will likely be named as a three star prospect in August.
